Holy Saviour Church in Wilkes-Barre closed its doors for the final time, Sunday, June 30th, 2014 after 117 years of service to the community. More than 400 people showed up to the final mass, many of whom were baptized in the church.

John McKeown, who was baptized at Holy Saviour Church in 1920 venerates the altar, Sunday, during the final mass. McKeown had become so interested and educated in the church's long history he became the unofficial Holy Saviour historian.
